Frequently Asked Questions

Why is it called Dancers Bridge?

Ashley’s soul dog, Cayenne, taught herself, as a puppy, to flip in the air whenever she wanted treats. Ashley began calling Cayenne “Tiny Dancer.” Ashley wanted to incorporate this into the Rescue because Cayenne is a driving force behind everything Ashley does.

I see a dog I’m interested in… what happens next?

You can submit an inquiry here on the website, or you can email us directly at dancersbridgedogrescue@gmail.com, and we will send you an application. Once your application has been reviewed, we will contact you to discuss further. If you and we agree that your family sounds like a good fit, we will schedule a Meet and Greet with the pup. From there, we will schedule a home visit to observe your home before a final determination is made.

I’m thinking about fostering but it seems hard/sad/exhausting/time consuming/etc…

Fostering is all of those things, but it is also rewarding, heartwarming, and satisfying. By agreeing to foster a pup, you are opening your home, but most importantly, your heart, to this dog. These dogs have likely just lost the family they’ve lived with for years, maybe even their whole lives. They have no idea what is happening or why. A Foster’s purpose is to ensure that the pup experiences safety and love, while we figure out the best next steps for them. There is no specific timeline for fostering, as some dogs need more vet care than others, and sometimes age or medical needs make it more difficult to find an appropriate forever home.
